Show Dr. Allen Icateinciii To Deliver Feature Address At Altoniosit i !" BOARD PRESIDENT B. A. Jacoby, Duchesne, will preside over general session and deliver official welcome address at Annual An-nual Rural Education Conference that opens tonight at Altamont. DINNER TO OPEN ACTIVITIES; BANDS TO PERFORM Participants in the Fourth Annual An-nual Rural Education Conference for Duchesne County, which opens tonight at 5:30, will hear a report on the recent Utah Whitehouse Conference on Education by Dr. E. Allen Batman, state superintendent superinten-dent of public instruction, who is the featured speaker. "New Approaches" is the theme of the conference that is being held for the second consecutive year at Altamont High School. A dinner for all guests who will function on the' program during the program tonight and tomorrow, tomor-row, will be the kick-off phase of the conference. Presiding at the dinner will be Rowan C. Stutz, county' superintendent, and general gen-eral chairman of the committee. The Altamont High School Home Ec. department will prepare and serve the' dinner. Registration at 7:00 p.m. will precede a massed band concert at 7:30, including all high school and junior high bands in the district. At 8:30 the first general session of the conference is being scheduled sched-uled with B. A. Jacoby, president of the board of education, presiding presid-ing and giving the address of welcome. wel-come. Friday activities will officially get underway at 9:15, when the second general session will begin. Registration will be from 8:45 to 9:15. Following the introduction of guests and explanation of the purposes pur-poses and' mechanics of the conference con-ference by Mr. Stutz, the conference con-ference will separate into two sections, sec-tions, "A" and "B." Speakers have been assigned to these two sections and were announced last week. On Friday the two sections "A" and "B," will have a brief intermission inter-mission for lunch, and will continue con-tinue with the group meetings until un-til 3:30 when the final general session ses-sion will convene for a brief summary sum-mary of the conference by group leaders. 4 p.m. is set for the conclusion con-clusion of the Fourth Annual Rural Rur-al Education Conference. |
