Show Scott Murdock Is Honored With Life Scout Badge Scott Murdock, Troop 750 of Roosevelt Third Ward, received his Life scout badge Sunday, Mar. 4, at the monthly Roosevelt District Dis-trict Court of Honor before an audience' of 130 persons. Total of 93 awards of which 78 were' merit badges were presented to the scouts of Troops 262, 750, 252, 264 and 253 as well as explorers ex-plorers of Post 2251 2252, 2253, and 2750. In the yearly advancement contest con-test Troop 750 of the Roosevelt Third Ward won first place for the month of Ferbuary. Montwell, Troop 262, was second; Myton, Troop 253, was third. For the explorer advancement contest Ballard Post 2252 was first, Post 2251 of the 'Roosevelt ward was second, and Roosevelt Third Post 2750 was third. Sharon Anderson's Troop 251 of the Roosevelt Ward was host unit. Mark Dickerson, Troop 750, received re-ceived his First Class badge along with fingerprinting and painting merit badges. Scott Murdock received re-ceived his fingerprinting merit badge. Louis Rawlings earned fingerprinting, first aid and bookbinding book-binding merit badges. Public speaking speak-ing went to Steve Bellon, while Billy Hall earned his reading merit badge. Bart Killian of Ioka, Troop 264, received his first class badge Ballard Gets 14 Badges Fourteen merit badges went to five scouts of Ballard Troop 252. Allen Collins earned firemanship, first aid, and safety; Merrill Ras-mussen Ras-mussen was awarded' cooking, farm mechanics and home repairs; Karl White received animal industry, in-dustry, home repairs and citizenship citizen-ship in the home. Glen Page, also of Ballard, earned earn-ed woodwork, woodcarving, first aid and home repairs and George Mangum was presented his first aid merit badge. Five boys from Montwell Troop 262, earned merit badges: Dwain Hamblin in art; Lonnie' Boren for animal industry and' farm mechanics; mechan-ics; Gary Brown in mechanical drawing and woodwork; Dahl Powell for art, farm mechanics, and home repairs and Aaron Pace in citizenship in the community, leatherwork and art. Myton Scouts Awarded 21 Badges Twenty-one merit badges were awarded 11 scouts of Myton Troop 253: Wayne Martin in leatheTwork and woodcarving; Billy Fausett for mechanical darwing and first aid to animals; LaVern Young in leatherwork; Roger Smith earned mechanical drawing; Curtis Winn leatherwork, art, painting, and mechanical drawing; LaMar Winn in art; and Robert Duke in safety and public health. Other Myton scouts .receiving merit badges were: Bert Dennis, mechanical drawing, woodwork and leatherwork; Buddy Holgate for public health; Floyd Nielsen in mechanical drawing and LaVon Edwards in leatherwork and woodwork, wood-work, f Explorer Awards Annie Moulton of Myton Explorer Ex-plorer post 2253 earned a merit badge in sheep farming. Ballard explorer post 2252 received re-ceived the following: markman-ship markman-ship to Anthony Lundberg; emergency em-ergency skills rating and sheep production to Donald Heed; apprentice ap-prentice and cooking merit badge to DeLoy Squire; apprentice and cooking to Don Kettle;, apprentice and cooking to Melvin Asay; apprentice, ap-prentice, star, mechanical drawing, woodcarving and farm mechanics to Reed Rasmussen. Charles Timothy 'of post 2750 earned his emergency service award, camping, cooking and public health merit badges. Leon Killpack received woodwork, mechanical drawing and home repairs; Robert Hacking was awarded his wild life management merit badge. Roosevelt Ward Gains In John Gale's Explorer, post 2251 of the Roosevelt ward Raymond Ray-mond Edrington received his apprentice ap-prentice award, first aid and firemanship fire-manship 'merit badges; Don Winter-ton Winter-ton his apprentice ; Clay Frandsen his apprentice, star, first aid, camping and cooking and Neil Anderton was awarded merit badges for camping, public speaking speak-ing and firemanship. He also received re-ceived his emergency seTvice award, A summary of the yearly advancement ad-vancement contest reveals that in the Boy scout division Myton troop 253, leads with 17 points; Roosevelt Roose-velt Third troop 750 has 13; Montwell Mont-well troop 262 has 9;. Neola troop 270 has 4; and Roosevelt Fourth troop 751 has one. For the explorer division, Roosevelt Roose-velt Third post 2750, earned 19 points to date; Myton post 2253 and Roosevelt Ward post each has 6 points and Ballard post 2252 has 5 points Next court of honor will be April 1 at 3 p.m. at the Avalon LDS Chapel. |
