Show Raodlett Viola Jensen Church Notes The Singing Mothers met Thursday Thurs-day at the Ward house for singing practice. The Avalon ward leadership meeting me-eting was held Thursday evening. The Relief Society annual party was held Friday evening in the ward recreation hall in the form of a banquet. Master of Ceremonies Ceremon-ies was Wayne Pickup, Carolyn Chandler and her brother Gilbert Ross accompanied with his guitar. Julie and Jerry Washburn of Vernal Ver-nal played' two instrumental selections. se-lections. Mr. and Mrs. Claire Hol-lingsworth Hol-lingsworth sang two selections, some very clever stunts were performed per-formed by some- of the group. Lawrence C. Wall Sr. recently a missionary in Norway was the' speaker for the evening. A delicious de-licious dinner was served to sixty three guests by the Relief Society ladies. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Robinsen and daughter DeVi of Salt Lake City spent the weekend visiting Mr. Robinson's parents, Mr and Mrs. Mariner McMullen. Mr. and Mrs. Neldon Wall of Salt Lake City spent the' weekend visiting Mr. Walls parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wall. Robert Dudley arrived home on a thirty day furlough early Monday Mon-day morning. Mr. and Mrs. Dudley and daughter Vicky are visiting at the home of Mr. Dudley's parents, par-ents, the' Harold Dudleys. Mrs. Jennie McMullen and son Vern spent last Saturday visiting with Mr. and Mrs, Jay Jenkins of Washington at the home of Mrs. McMulIins mother Mrs. Pearl Jenkins of Roosevelt. The Relief Society Work meeting meet-ing was held Tuesday at the Ward house. The ladies painted their lamp shade frames and made quilt blocks. Speaker at Sacrament meeting Sunday afternoon was Eldre'd Johnson, a high Councilman of the B.Y.U. Stake at Provo. Mrs. Archie Johnson of Vernal was a visitor at Sacrament meeting. Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Wahlquist and Bryan of Idaho Falls, Idaho were weekend visitors at the Mariner Mar-iner McMullen home. They also attended the Relief Society party. Mr. and Mrs. William Chandler entertained their family at Dinner Thursday evening. Attending were'; Mr. and' Thomas Chandler and family and Mrs Vera Wiedner and family. Mrs. Jessie Pickup and Mrs. Ada Pickup were in Salt Lake City last week visiting relatives. Lyle Pickup brought them home Saturday. Sat-urday. Mrs. Mary Young, Gladys Jar-man, Jar-man, Jennie McMullen and Hazel Wardle attended the cooking school which was held at the new Uintah High School in Vernal March 17th. Mr. and Mrs, Grant Jarman of Roosevelt spent Sunday afternoon visiting at the home of Mr. Jar-man's Jar-man's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank-lin L. Jarman Mrs Fahy Durfee left Saturday evening for Salt Lake City where' he will visit his daughter, Fayellen Barlow and his son Richard. Mrs. Claris Broome and family of Vernal and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Danial of Ft. Duchesne, Utah were Sunday visitors at the John Young home. Mr, and Mrs. Martin Chandler of Salt Lake City and Mrs. Louise Ross and family of Ballard were Sunday dinner guests at the William Wil-liam Chandler home'. |
