Show Trap Shoot Meet Set For Basin May 10, 17 and 24 By Dick Johnstun Something new for the eastern east-ern end of the state in the way of entertainment, will be a Round-Robin Trap Shoot, which will get underway on May 10, when some 40-odd Clay Busters will start their first of an annual an-nual tournament at Roosevelt, moving to Vernal on May 17, and winding up the three-week shoot at Duchesne on May 24. Everybody who has a yen for the Clay is urged to enter, with entries closing on May 3. There will be a drawing for teams of five men each and handicapped after the first week so the inexperienced in-experienced shooter will have a very good chance of being on the winning team. Entry blanks can be filled out by Wallace Stevenson at Duchesne, Marvin Oldroyd and Albert Crumbo, Roosevelt, and Alvin Kay at Vernal. Team standings will be published pub-lished the week following each shoot so sports enthusiasts can; keep up on the shooting scores, i A Calcutta Handicap shoot will be staged immediately following fol-lowing the final shoot at Duchesne, Du-chesne, on May 24, which will be open to' everyone. It will not be necessary for a person to be entered in the tournament tourna-ment in order to shoot in this event. So blow the dust out of the old smokepole and get out on one of the rangs of the three towns for a little practice you will be surprised what it will do for you come "Stubble Duck" time this fall. - Good luck, and good shooting! |
