Show School Groups Met At Roosevelt To Hear Educator Forty-five school board members, mem-bers, principals and their wives of Duchesne County, convened at the Roosevelt Junior High School, Tuesday evening for a dinner meeting. Lawrell Jensen, Junior High School principal, was in charge of arrangements for the social event and introduced Superintendent Superin-tendent Dean C. Christensen, who welcomed the guests. Guest speaker for the evening even-ing was Reuben D. Law, dean of the College of Education at the Brigham . Young University, and former superintendent of the Duchesne County school district, dis-trict, serving in that capacity eighteen years ago. He talked on the history of education and the cooperation between principals, prin-cipals, boards members and the faculty members. He revealed startling facts concerning educa--tion in the state of Utah, stating stat-ing that 4.4 of the income in the state of Utah was spent on. education in 1937-38; 3.4 in 1939-40; 3.1 in 1947-48; 2.9 . in 1948-49; and 2.6 in 1950-51. 1950-51. Douglas Labrum, 7th grade student, entertained the group with a saxophone solo. The dinner was prepared and served by Mrs. Faye Jensen, head cook at the school for noon lunches, and her co-workers. |
