Show Weekly newspaper Is Best Advertising Esiledia, Foot Printers Told By Goncver "Studies of readership habits have shown that the weekly newspaper has the highest readership read-ership and greatest local circulation circu-lation than any other printed media," Harrison Conover, publisher pub-lisher af the Springville Herald, told members of the International Interna-tional Foot Printers Association. Guest speaker at the Foot Pxinter luncheon at the New-house New-house Hotel, Thursday afternoon, after-noon, April 16, Mr. Conover stated that weeklies have polled 80 on readership surveys throughout the state while dailies dail-ies rank 35. Television and radio have a listening audience aud-ience of about 14 . In local areas, ar-eas, the weekly circulates to 81 of the population. "The country newspaper editor edi-tor must be a man of strong convictions," the Springville publisher stated. "He is expected expect-ed to fight for a great many causes. He fights a constant battle bat-tle to maintain those freedoms we hear so much on a national level such as the freedom of the press, the hight of the people peo-ple to be informed on their government, the right to have honest, competent public officials. "A specific instance of the country press upholding the rights of the people, is a case now before the courts testing the right of public officials to withhold from the people min-j min-j utes of the officials' meetings I until the officials consider the minutes 'safe for publication.' The people pay taxes and have a right to know how their funds are being spent by their elected government officials."
