Show Mrs. Ellen Bracken Relief Society Makes Quilt a group oi Relief Society ladies met at 10 o'clock Tues-j Tv April 14 and quilted a nuilt Mrs. Evelyn Brighton and Mrs Tilintha Rasmussen served the group a delicious lunch at noon Some time was spent in making paper flowers. All the ' ork was done under the supervision su-pervision of Mrs. Maude Anderson. Ander-son. Norman Mangum enjoyed a ip to Cortez, Colo, to visit friends while home on a furlough. fur-lough. He- left Sunday morning to report for duty at San Diego, Calif., where he is with the Navy. Celia Kay Jenkins, daughter of Mr and Mrs. Cecil Jenkins, was -absent from school several days ( last week because of having yellow jaundice. Karen, daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Ned Gines, is absent from school now with the same ailment. Due to the serious condition of Mrs. Julia Kettle, her whole family spent most of Friday night at her bedside. Glen Eldredge, who has been home on a furlough, left for Baltimore, Maryland, last week. He will be stationed there for some time. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Kettle, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Cook, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Evans, Mr. and Mrs. George Bracken, of Ballard, Mr. and Mrs. Larane Bolton, of Bennett, and Miss Melba Durfee, of Leota, enjoyed square dancing at Ballard on Thursday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Junior Belts and family spent two days in .f Salt Lake City last week. Junior spent the two days at a school in interest' of Leavitt Equipment Equip-ment Co. They were house guests of Mrs. Belts' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dewey McConkie. Mrs. Ole Rasmussen has been ! one who has been canvassing , the ward in interest of the Red I Cross drive. ' Mr. and Mrs. Ben Ashley are the proud parents of a baby I girl, born at the Roosevelt hospital hos-pital last week. I Mrs. Ralph McMullin, Mrs. Lynn McClure and Mrs. Frank McClure attended a shower at ! Bennett last week for Mrs. Le- land Mitchell. Mrs. Farrell Mohlman and ; two children, of Altamont, vis-, vis-, ited at the home of Mrs. Mohl-man's Mohl-man's sister, Mrs. Wendell Johnson, on Saturday. Billie Arnold, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Arnold, left Saturday Satur-day morning, after spending a i furlough with his parents and his wife, who resides with her parents in Vernal. Billie is in ilhe Navy. Ensign, Grant and Paul Clark, sons of Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Clark, of Salt Lake City, spent the weekend visiting friends in Ballard. The Clarks were former for-mer members of Ballard ward. |
