Show Cabins Damaged In Uintah Canyon Three cabins were broken into and considerable damage committed commit-ted and property stolen in Uinta Canyon, sometime between Wednesday Wed-nesday and Saturday night of last week. Cabins belonging to Dr. and Mrs. Paul G. Stringham, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Eldredge, and Mr. and Mrs. Bennie Schmiett, all of Roosevelt, Roos-evelt, were victims of vandals. The Stringham cabin received the most damage and most property taken of the three. Both doors were broken and screens were cut in the Stringham cabin. Fishing poles were broken and a geiger counter stolen, and things were taken from drawers and scattered around the interior of the cabin. The other cabins received only minor damage. The Eldredge cabin cab-in lock on the door was broken and the screen cut. Evidence was that the cabin had been entered and the vandals had helped themselves them-selves to canned food stored in the cupboards. A lock on the front door of the Schmiett cabin was cracked but no evidence that the cabin had been entered was found. |
