Show Five Legion Auxiliaries Will SesicI Delegates To Girls' State Eleven girls, representing fivej American Legion Auxiliaries, will join scores of other girls from about Utah next Saturday as the annual Girls' State opens at the Utah State Agricultural College campus in Logan. Sending delegates dele-gates are Ft. Duchesne, Roosevelt, Myton, Altonah and Duchesne units. They will be in Logan June 12-18. From Ft. Duchesne and representing repre-senting the Uintah-Ouray Unit 126, will be Miss Margaret Huber of Lapoint, . daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Huber, and Maxine Harris, Ft. Duchesne, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Harris. Both are juniors at Union High School. () Photos of Altonah Delegates received too late for this week and will be printed June 16). Representing the Basin Unit 64 of Roosevelt will be Jean Fields daughter of Mrs. Grant Fields, Billie Reidhead, daughter of 1 Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Reidhead, and Carol Lynn Cook, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Cook. They will be senior students next year and attended Union the past year. Altonah Sends Two Two top students at Altamont High School last year will be envoys en-voys from the Toyack Unit 53, of the Altonah Auxiliary. They are, Cleo Clark, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William E. Clark, Altonah, and Virginia Swasey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. M. Swasey, of Boneta. From Duchesne go two honor .students of the Duchesne High School junior class the past year." Representing Duchesne Auxiliary will be Betty Jo Jacoby, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. A. Jacoby, and LeAnn Jordan, daughter of Mr. "and Mrs. Earl Jordan. Wm. R. Sands, Auxiliary Unit No. 5 of Myton, has selected as their delegates Norma Rae Murphy, Mur-phy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earwin Murphy of Bridgeland, and Phyllis Yergensen, daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Elmer Yergensen of Myton, My-ton, They will be seniors at Union Un-ion High next year. A girl, to qualify for Girls' States, must be of high moral character and among the top students stu-dents in the junior class during the school year previous. Expenses Expens-es are borne by local clubs or individuals, in-dividuals, which amount to $30 per girl. |
