Show f ... i City Considers Two Bids On Street Project Two bids are still being considered con-sidered for the special improvement improve-ment project that is to be completed com-pleted in Roosevelt this summer. At the regular meeting of the city council Monday night, four bids on the sidewalk, curb and gutter project that had been submitted, were opened. The low bid submitted was by Bouchard and Stark Company of Ogden, and was for $174,572.25, and the second low bid was turned turn-ed in by Waterfall Construction Co., also of Ogden, and was in the amount of $179,952.13. According to Mrs. Irene 1. Ruppel, city recorder, Mayor Paul Murphy and the council decided to check extensions before deciding decid-ing which of the two low bids they would accept. This decision should be made and the contract awarded this week, or as soon as the tabulations of the extensions are completed. 200 Working Days When the successful bidder is announced he will be so notified. The contract will specify 200 working days, in which to complete com-plete the job, with seven days allowed al-lowed after awarding contract to either begin work, or have time charged against the contractor. If winter frosts intervene before the job is completed, then workers will be ordered off the job, and no time charged against the contractor con-tractor until conditions justify re- (Continued On Back Page) CITY STREET PROJECT . . . Reason for pushing this portion of the job will be because the State Road Commission is standing by ready to pave the two streets from curb to curb. |
