Show For the Home For Gluing Wide Boards JN gluing wide boards or frames when no long clamps are available, avail-able, Popular Mechanics advocates advo-cates drilling two saw horses for dowel stops. Dowels inserted in the holes will hold the work while the glue sets. Boards to be edge-glued are placed between the stops. Between Be-tween one of the dowels and the work, drive a long wooden wedge to clamp the boards together, as shown in the illustration. When the dowels are not being used, drive them down. |
