Show By Mrs. Merle Ross Extend Sympathy Friends were shocked and grieved to hear of the passing of Carol Memmott. Carol was a classmate class-mate and an associate of all the students who attended Union High School' from our community. We would like to express our sincere sympathy to her bereaved parents and brother. Rulon Gilbert left Monday morning morn-ing on an official State Chapter FFA visit. The high schools on his itinerary are Wasatch at Heber, South Summit at Kamas, North Summit at Coalville, Lincoln at Orem, South Emery at Ferron and North Emery at Huntington. Mrs. Glen Snyder, of Moses Lake, Washington, was a visitor at the Jack Gilbert home, Saturday. Satur-day. Mrs. Rose Gilbert, of Myton, and Mrs. Jack Goodrich and boys of Tridell were ward visitors Sunday. They called at the home of Pauline Larsen, President and Mrs. Hale Holgate and were dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas M. Gilbert. Nancy Tanner has been confined to her bed with a strep throat. ATTEND MIA LEADERSHIP MEETING IN DUCHESNE MIA Leadership meeting in Duchesne, Du-chesne, Thursday evening, was attended at-tended by Lois Terpening, Naomi Gilbert, Donna Ross, Gladys Cap-son, Cap-son, Ida Horrocks, Marsha Lusty, Eleanor Capson, Merle Ross, Sher-rie Sher-rie Gilbert, Harold Groves, Lynn LaMar Ross, Marva Mae Horrocks and Rulon Gilbert. Gladys Bell attended a school meeting in Duchesne, Wednesday evening. Mrs. Boyd Freston and son, Lyle, of Roosevelt, have been staying with her mother, Mrs. Arch Larsen, while Boyd and Arch went to the mountains to finish gathering cattle. cat-tle. This was a very opportune time for them to take along their rifles. Merle Ross has been taking the annual school census. Wm. R. Evans, of Bountiful, came out to join some of the deer hunters here. President Hale Holgate, Hol-gate, Chad Evans R. G. and Stanley Stan-ley Hoss, Marve Bell from Arcadia, Bob Murdock of Roosevelt and Bishop Carl Van Tassell and son, Boyd of Bridgel'and were in one group that went out. "Some did; some didn't" None of the feLlows felt it had been too good of a hunt. Al Mezenen, of Duchesne, has been -threshing for Berl Lusty and Marvin Shields. Mrs. Mezenen came down with him and visited at the Shields' home. Mr. and Mrs. David Watkins and children, of Roosevelt, visited at the Marvin Shields home Sunday. Mrs. Vera Larsen and daughter, Pauline, were Salt Lake shoppers Monday. They also visited Mr. and Mrs. Myron Mower in Provo. MRS. MINNIE PACE IS RECOVERING FROM OPERATION Mrs. Vera Johnson accompanied her brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Pace, of Montwel, to Salt Lake Wednesday. Their mother, Mrs. Minnie Pace underwent a major operation at the General Hospital. At present time she is recovering very rapidly. Mrs. Ora Holgate also accompanied accom-panied them and visited with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Sharon Holgate and family. Mr. and Mrs. Rae Scholes, of Roosevelt, left their sons, Terry and Kendall, with their grandmother, grandmoth-er, Mrs. Vera Larsen, while they went on an unsuccessful deer hunt. It seemed like old times to have Donna Larsen with us again. She left with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Larsen, for Moses Lake, in the spring. Donna came back this fall' to enter school at the USAC. We hope she can spend frequent weekends with us. While here she was a guest of her sister sis-ter and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Hadden of Myton. Mrs. Neldon Johansen, of Upal-co Upal-co visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. Chad Evans. Donna Larsen and her sister, Mrs. Bernard Hadden, and baby were Sunday School visitors. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Ross, of Lark, Utah, Yisited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Ross and Mrs. Merle Ross. Mrs. Gordon Shields and daughters, daugh-ters, Devera and Pamela, of Salt Lake City, were callers at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Shields. Zeary Mathews has been driving driv-ing our bus, while our regular driven, Lee Nelson, went to Detroit De-troit to drive a new bus back. Bishop Gam Gilbert is trying his luck with the well drilling. Garnett Birchell is the driller. SHOWS IMPROVEMENT Since returning from the hospital hos-pital in Salt Lake, the small son of Mr. and Mrs. Chad Evans seems to be showing some improvement. Dinner guests Wednesday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Gilbert Gil-bert were Mr. and Mrs. Willard Dearden of Bingham Canyon. Sunday, President and Mrs. Hale Holgate were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Moon. They also attended ward conference in Duchesne Du-chesne that evening. Mr. and Mrs. Amos Gagon were weekend guests at the Elden Thompson home. Speakers at Sacrament meeting were Wanless Shields, of Bridge-land Bridge-land and Elwin Barker of Duchesne. Du-chesne. ) . |
