Show Church Notes The Mt. Emmons ward Primary Leadership meeting was held in the home of Pres. Pearl Orr Wednesday, Wed-nesday, Oct. 19. In-service trainer Norma Hansen presented the lesson, les-son, after which the Primary Hallowe'en Hal-lowe'en party was planned. Refreshments Re-freshments were served at the close of the meeting. Moon Lake stake monthly Sunday Sun-day School Leadership meeting was held Sunday, Oct. 23 in the Mt. Emmons chapel. Pres. William Brotherson presided and LaVer Bentley, assistant superintendent, conducted. The stake board was happy to increase attendance, in spite of the deer season. CONFERENCE PLANNED Moon Lake stake quarterly conference con-ference will be held in the Mt. Emmons chapel, Sunday, Oct. 30. Elder Antoine R. Ivins will be the visiting general authority. Pres. Winkler was guest speaker in Sacrament meeting Sunday, Oct. 23 at Mt. Emmons. Josephine Wall and Larry Hartman gave talks representing the young people. peo-ple. The Mt. Emmons ladies chorus, under the. direction of Rita Hansen, Han-sen, sang a special number, "More Holiness Give Me." The Gleaner class met at the home of Alma Young. Thursday afternoon for their class instruction, instruc-tion, under the direction of Mrs. Edgar Miles. The hostess served light refreshments to the class members, which were really enjoyed. en-joyed. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Hamberg spent the weekend with his parents. par-ents. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hamberg. Cecil, Dale and Ray Hamberg all were successful in getting their deer. Harlan Hartman spent the weekend week-end at home with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Floid Hartman. He brought his friend, David Godfrey, of Midvale to join in the deer hunt. They both were successful and brought home a 5-point and a 4-point deer. Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Denver and family were dinner guests of Mrs. Kenneth LaRose, Sunday, Oct. 23. Mr. and Mrs George S. Davis and family, of Salt Lake City, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. Max Hartman over the weekend, for the deer hunt. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Hartman, Fletcher and Becky were visitors in Mt. Emmons from Friday to Monday. They went deer hunting this weekend. Mr. and Mrs. E. Max Hartman, Charlene and Edwin were in Salt Lake City during the week on business. bus-iness. They were accompanied by Mrs. Hartman's parents, Mr. and Mrs. James B. Lemon of Ioka. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Case spent the first few days of deer season with his brothers, Earl and Floyd Case of Mt. Emmons. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Case are from Ogden. Both he and Floyd brought home deer. Fred Thacker, of Ogden, spent Saturday hunting and brought back his deer. He is visiting with his folks, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Thacker. LaFarge Dastrup seems to have been the first to bring home his deer, a two-pointer, which he got early Saturday. BiU Evans and son, Duane, and Earl Crosby and Grant Hansen were among the large number of successful hunters. Mrs. Lynn Farnsworth tended her four little grandchildren while her daughter and son-in-law Mr. and Mrs Blaine Corbin, went deer hunting. Mr. Farnsworth and the Corbins returned with two deer. Francis J. Neilson, who has just recovered from a recent illness, has returned to Altamont to join his wife, Mrs. Eliza Neilson, our home economics instructor. We all' welcome him back home. Mrs. Connie Fieldsted is substituting substi-tuting in the REA office for Mrs. Toy Campbell, who has gone to California for a month's vacation. DAN CUPID STRIKES IN ALTAMONT H. S. Several Altamont High School co-eds are wearing diamond rings this fall. Engaged are: Ruth All-red, All-red, Virginia Swasey, Sharleen Young, Marjorie Mitchell and La-Rae La-Rae Monsen. MIA ATHLETIC DIRECTOR Kenneth Bearden has been appointed ap-pointed stake athletic director of the YMMIA. The M Men and Explorers Ex-plorers had basketball practice Wednesday night for the first time this year in the Altamont High School gym. Mrs. Florence Mohlman has returned re-turned from Salt Lake, where she attended her son, Grant's graduation gradua-tion from barber school. Evan and Edith Hansen, Ned and Betty Mitchell, Grover and Helen Mitchell and Hardy Perkins enjoyed camping out near Vernal over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Nebeker from Ogden, visited with Mr. and Mrs Edgar Miles of Mt. Emmons. Accompanied Ac-companied by Mr. and Mrs. Grover Mitchell, the Miles and Nebekers also visited in Randlett. Robert and Clela Deshler and their three children from Salt Lake City, are spending a week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Wall. Also visiting with the family fam-ily is their son, Jay Wall, and his family. Jay was successful in getting get-ting his deer. Mr. and Mrs. Linden Hansen spent a day in Salt Lake this week visiting with Mr. Hansen's father, C. A. Hansen, who was celebrating his 86th birthday. The 36-inch spread buck that Doyle Lisonbee brought home is the largest buck that has been reported re-ported to us. The hunters in our area have done pretty well this .year. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Hansen have moved back to their home in Mapleton, Utah Lester and Mabel lived in the Hansen Apartments in Altamont while working with the road construction crew. The new residents are Mr. and Mrs. Bill Barnes. Mr. Barnes, who is working with Shurtliff and Andrews An-drews on the Yellowstone feeder canal, is from Pittsburg, Penn. Mrs. Barnes comes from Denver, Colo. We hope they will enjoy their stay in Altamont. We wish to welcome Mr. " and Mrs. Alton Sorevign and their two boys to Altamont. Mr. Soverign is an equipment operator with the road crew, and he and his family have moved to Roy Thacker's trailer space. James R. Thacker and his family have moved to Altamont, while he is working on the pipe line. The James Thackers have four children two boy attending school in kindergarten and the 1st grade and a girl and boy at home. Sandra Kolb celebrated her -fifth birthday Sunday Oct. 23rd. Her young guests enjoyed games under un-der the direction of her sister, Gracie, after which the presents were opened, and the Happy Birthday Birth-day cake served. Sandra is a kindergarten kin-dergarten student at Altamont grade school. Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Swallow spent the weekend visiting with hei family in Heber. David Hisiop, Grant Mohlman, and Gecrge Chapman were successful suc-cessful in bring home two deer. Friday morning, Oct. 21, those seniors who are not planning to go to college, traveled to Duchesne Du-chesne to take aptitude tests. |
