Show University Of Scouting Plans Near Completion Leaders Chosen For Course To Start Nov. 4th Final meeting of the University of Scouting committee has been set for 4:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 30, at the Roosevelt stake house, announced an-nounced James E Bacon, University Univer-sity of Scouting chairman. At that time last minute preparations pre-parations will be discussed and completed for the opening session of the 6-week training experience. It will' begin at 7:30 p.m, Friday, Nov. 4, at the Roosevelt Junior Hieh School. Purpose of the University of Scouting, explains Mr. Bacon, is to give formal trainin'; to the 397 adults of the Uintah Basin registered regis-tered with (he Boy Scouts of America. Over half of the adults registered in Scouting in the Basin I are expected to take advantage of the training opportunity. A 500 registration fee is being received for the course, but interested inter-ested persons who have not registered reg-istered may do so at the door on the opening session, continued Mr. Bacon. LDS Guide Patrol leaders, TreT-er TreT-er leaders, and mothers of boys 10 and 11 years of age are invited to participate in the Guide Patrol department of the University of Scouting under the direction of J. Ferron Hacking, Vernal. George Hacking will instruct trie commissioner staffs of the four Basin districts. Members of district operating committees, institutional in-stitutional representatives, members mem-bers of bishoprics, heads of institutions insti-tutions are invited to attend the District Committee department headed by Paul Murphy of Roosevelt. |
