James A.Giles Note Golden Wedding Active Church Workers Came To Basin In 1927 MYTON (Special) Open house will be held Saturday, Oct. 29th at the Myton LDS ward chapel from 1 p.m. 'till 3:30 p.m. for Mr. and Mrs. James A. Giles, in celebration cele-bration of their Golden Wedding anniversary. They were married October 31, 1905 in Heber, and their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple August 25, 1955. Mr. Giles was born in Heber, April 18, 1885, a son of Wm. M. and Ann Murdock Giles. His wife was born in West Weber, Utah, February 28, 1888, a daughter of John B. and Christina Muir Gibson. Mr. Giles filed on a homestead on West Bench near Duchesne in 1907, -then returned to work in Park City and in 1927 came to Antelope, where he farmed 'till 1936 when they moved to Myton. Mr. Giles served as Myton City marshall and watermaster for 16 years. Mrs. Giles was the first supervisor in the Myton school lunch room. Both are active in LDS church work. They are the parents of 10 children, 9 of whom are living: Mrs. Mary Rhodehouse, St. Anthony, An-thony, Idaho; Clifford Giles, Og-den; Og-den; Rex Giles, Murray; Mrs. Christina Fitzgerald, Bridgeland; Mrs. Betty Jenkins and Guy Giles, Othello, Wash.; Don and Jack Giles and Mrs. Rachel Martin, all of Myton. They have 45 grandchildren, grandchil-dren, 14 great-grandchildren and 11 foster grandchildren. Friends are cordially invited to attend the open house and extend greetings to bride and groom of fifty years ago. |
