Show Army Corporal Succumbs; Companion Injured A young U. S. Army corporal was killed Saturday at 6:30 a.m. when the car he was driving went out of control and overturned on a curve and careened into rocky Sand Wash. '22 miles west of Duchesne Du-chesne on U. S. Highway 40. The serviceman. Bob A. Cain. '24, Grant's Pass, Ore., was dead on arrival at the Tioosevelt Hospital. Hos-pital. Tie was hurled several feet from the car. His companion, Pvt. Glen A. Jellcoat, 18, Charleston. S. C, was pinned beneath the 1950 Olds-mobile Olds-mobile club coupe, which was totally to-tally demolished. He suffered no major injuries and was treated in the Roosevelt Hospital, for a head gash. He told investigating officers offi-cers that he was asleep at the time the car left the road. Howard Powell, the investigating investigat-ing Utah State Highway Patrol trooper, said the accident was reported re-ported by deer hunters who arrived ar-rived on the scene shortly after it happened. A call for help was made by Clinton J. Mickelson of Duchesne. He was on his way deer hunting, and made the call from Fruitland. |
