Show Swimming Help Given Boy Scouts The members of the Myton Boy Scout troop have been receiving expert training in swimming, under un-der the direction of Mrs. LaVora Tucker during the past 10 days at Lake Boren. This training enabled en-abled the Scouts to pass their tests when they attended the Court of Honor at Whiterocks, Sunday. Mrs. Tucker, the former LaVora Murray, has been a physical phy-sical education instructor for several sev-eral years and during the past year has been instructor at the Y.W.C.A. in Boston Mass. and is. now home on vacation. The Myton Boy Scout troop attended at-tended the Scout Court of Honor at Whiterocks, Sunday. Thirteen Scouts, 1 Explorer, 13 parents Wilmer Murray, Scoutmaster and several Cub Scouts were present. Six members were presented with First Class pins; 2 members with Second Class pins and several received re-ceived merit badges. Mrs. Jennie Taylor received the announcement that she is again a grandmother. A 9 lb. 4 oz. son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Jim Felter,' Aug. 2nd, at Oakland, Calif. The young mother is the former Guyla. Taylor. The father served in the U. S. Army in Korea Kor-ea and is now attending school at Oakland. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Meranda were attending to their crops on their ranch west of town, during the weekend. As they returned to American Fork, Sunday -evening they were accompanied by Mrs. H. K. Palmer, who was attending to her property interests here, but was called back to Santa Monica, Calif, by the sudden illness of her husband. |
