Show N5gS5SSSSS I Reservation News - - - 1 S About The x $ UINTAH-OURAY INDIAN RESERVATION An election meeting was held at the Community Building at Ft. Duchesne Saturday for the ratification rati-fication of the Constitution and By-Laws and the organization of a board of directors for the mixed blood group. A majority of mixed blood voters voted yes and six voted no. The next step is a meeting scheduled for Tuesday evening for the purpose of nominating nom-inating candidates to be elected to hold the offices of board of directors di-rectors for the Affiliated Ute Citizens Citi-zens of the State of Utah. R - N Wfpiey Bobo, administration assistant, as-sistant, and Frank Scott, realty officer from Cedar City, were at the agency last week cohering with Supt. John O. Crow on the withor&wal of federal serices for the Paiute Indians in southern Utah. R - N Tribal Business committeemen, Jason Cuch, Ouray McCook, Harvey Har-vey Natchees and Russell Cuch enjoyed a trip to the site of the Weber Basin dam project with state representatives from Uintah and Duchesne counties. R - N The Fort Duchesne Women's Club held a meeting last week at the club house and the new slate of officers was installed for the ensuing one year term: Mary Carter, Car-ter, president;. Marion Massie, 1st vice-president; Mary LaRose, 2nd vice-president; Juanita Crow, 3rd vice-president and Juanita Williams, Wil-liams, secretary and treasurer. A business meeting was held and a bingo party planned for May 17 to raise funds for a new roof on the club house. Hostesses for the evening were Juanita Crow and LaBerle Gutzman. R - N Monday evening the Fort Duchesne Du-chesne Girls' Club played softball, after which cake and ice cream were served' in honor of Geral-dine Geral-dine Denver and July Sixkiller's birthdays. Les Beardall, Paul Calder, Forest Lamb, Wilson Gutzman, Lowell Coleman and Elmer Denver, Jr. and their families enjoyed a wein-er wein-er roast on the river last week. R - N Mrs. Morley Dean took her Sunday Sun-day School class of Moffatt ward to attend a movie at the Basin Drive-In Monday evening. R - N Mr. and Mrs.- Less Beardall spent the weekend in Provo visit ing relatives and friends. R - N The recreation sponsored a skating party at Randlett on the tennis courts Friday night and a lunch was served to the large crowd attending. R - N Mr. and Mrs. Sam Bumgarner were in Salt Lake City on business last Wednesday. |
