Show Randletl Mrs. J. E. Jensen Church Notes PRIMARY The Seagulls and Larks entertained enter-tained their mothers at a Mother's Day party Tuesday. Special guests attending were stake visitor Mrs. John L. Swenson of Roosevelt; Primary president, Donna Pickup; Primary historian, Hannah Harris.! Mothers were Alton Rogers, Norma Nor-ma Marshall, Jean Stoddard, Vera WiedneT and Viola Jensen. A program pro-gram was given by the girls and cake and punch served. A Mother's Moth-er's Day card and handkerchief were given to each mother and guest. RELIEF SOCIETY The Relief Society held' their regular work meeting. The ladies cleaned the Relief Society1 room and layed a new carpet on the floor. The Relief Society served a chow mein dinner to those attending, at-tending, y M. I. A. The theme of the Mia Maid assembly as-sembly Tuesday evening was, "The Second Mile." Speakers were Rhea Pickup, Dian Taylor, Nila Swett and Loye Harris. Velma Pickup took care of the planned board. The group sang,, "That Wonderful Wonder-ful Father of Mine." Carolyn Stoddard Stod-dard accompanied at the piano. Talks were given by their teacher and Golden Bastian and Wayne Pickup. Mia Joy award pins were given to the following girls: Loye Harris, Velma and Rhea Pickup, and Dian Taylor. Fathers pinned them on their daughters. A large group from here attended at-tended the stake Dance Festival Wednesday evening at the Roosevelt Roose-velt stake house. Our group danced "The Waltz of the Roses," under the direction of Mrs. Leah Chandler. Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon J. Lewis and family of Layton spent the weekend' visiting at the home of Mrs. Lewis' parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Jensen. Mr. and Mrs. Neldon Wall of Salt Lake City were weekend visitors vis-itors at the home of Mr. Wall's parents, Mr. and Henry Wall. Miss Veda Wall of Salt Lake City spent the weekend visiting her parents. Miss Beatrice Chandler of Salt Lake City was a -weekend visitor at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William T. Chandler. Mrs. Leah Chandler's family and her mother, Mrs. Ada Pickup, returned re-turned home Tuesday evening from Price, where they visited the Richard O'Neils. Clyde Jarman and a friend, Miss Marian Bennett, and Mrs. John Tinker and family of Manila were weekend guests at the Ward Jar-man Jar-man home. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Rogers were weekend visitors at the Leonard Leon-ard Rogers' home. Mr. and Mrs. Norton Shelton and son, Duane, of Roosevelt, spent Sunday visiting at the J. E. Jensen home. Weekend visitors at the M. F. McMullen home were Bryan and Earl Wahlquist of Provo. Vern Robinson of Salt Lake City and a friend, Miss Jerilyfi Falkner visited Saturday with his mother. Mrs. Jennie McMullen. Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Moore I and boys of Kearns were weekend week-end visitors at the home of Mr. Moore's mother, Mrs. Sylvia Moore. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Kettle and family of Salt Lake City spent the weekend visiting at the home of Mrs. Kettle's mother, Mrs. Sylvia Moore. SACRAMENT MEETING Sacrament meeting was in commemoration com-memoration of the Restoration of the Aaronic Priesthood. Larry Stoddard announced the following program: talks, by a deacon, Robert Rob-ert Harris; a priest, Melton Stoddard; Stod-dard; a choral scripture reading, by Donald Wall, accompanied at the piano by Carolyn Stoddard; song, "Love at Home," by congregation:, congre-gation:, talks, Golden Bastian and Ethel Durfee. SUNDAY SCHOOL The Sunday School presented the following Mother's Day program: pro-gram: talks, by Donald Wall, Clark Nebeker, Kenneth Ellsworth, Chiee 'Brough, Pauline Pickup, Deanna Durfee, Goldea Bastian, and Leah Chandler. Mother's Day booklets were presented to every mother by the Sunday School. |
