The Jessens were hosts to the "500" Club in the evening. .High Score was won by Mr. and Mrs. Harry Fieldsted and low score by Mr. and Mrs. Grant Hansen. Han-sen. Leon Carroll, who is employed in Odessa, 'Arizona with an oil company, is home visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Carroll, Car-roll, for two weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Olsen made a business trip to Vernal, Friday, May 4. Mrs. Dallas Young and boys and Mrs. Ethel Robinson of Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove called at the home of Mrs. Elva Snyder and Mr and Mrs. Fenton Powell and other friends in Altonah one day last week. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Bird and .son of Salt Lake City, were weekend week-end guests of Mrs. Bird's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Linford Maxfield. Sheriff Lorin Stevenson of Duchesne Du-chesne was in town Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Arvil Stone and family of Murray, visited Mrs. Stone's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Smith over the weekend. Mrs. Minnie Lue Stevenson, who is employed in Salt Lake City, was home with her daughter, Maxie and her parents, Mr. and Mrs Lee Jessen. Judy Jessen of Salt Lake accompanied her for a visit with her father, Dewey Jessen. Mrs. Arda Oliver of Carbon-ville, Carbon-ville, Helen and Rex Cole of Sun-nyside Sun-nyside spent the weekend May 5 at the home of their uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Olsen. Mrs. Lester Maxfield and Mrs. George Fisher went to Duchesne Sunday for medical attention. Joan Christensen of Talmage was an overnight guest of Ann Monsen during the week. Mrs. Minnie Maxfield is spending spend-ing several weeks with her daughters daugh-ters in Bonanza. Albert Snyder of Springville and girl friend, Chrae Allman of Pro-vo, Pro-vo, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Potts and girls of Duchesne, visited with Mrs. Elva Snyder during the weekend week-end of May 5th. The baby daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bennie Mitchell was blessed in Sacrament meeting May 6th and given the name of Kathy MitchelL Mr. and Mrs. George Eastman and family of Artesia, Colo, called at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Olsen, Sunday. DINNER GUESTS Mr. and Mrs. George Carroll and family, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Brown and family and Leon Carroll Car-roll were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Jones Saturday evening. eve-ning. Films were shown by Leon, taken when he was in Japan and Alaska and some taken by Bill and Elaine Brown in Germany and Florida. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Smith and family of Fruita, Colo, arrived May 5th to visit Grant's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Smith. Mrs. Mary Carroll went to Salt Lake City where she will be employed. em-ployed. Her son, Gene, is staying at the George Carroll, home until school is out. Mr. and Mrs. Chubb Reay have sold their farm to Orlando Oman of Salt Lake City and moved into one of their apartments the last of the week. The Omans moved into their new home Monday'. May 7th. Dale Carroll and girl friend of Salt Lake City were Sunday guests May 6 of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence-Jones. Clarence-Jones. In the afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Earl Dunsmore and family joined them in a weiner roast on the Yellowstone River. Gaye McDonald of Talmage, was an overnight guest of Morita Bowden Tuesday. Ferrill Jacobson accompanied the Altamont Seminary students on a trip to the Manti Temple May 8th. SEE CANCER FILM There was no Relief Society work meeting May 8. A cancer film was shown at the Mt. Emmons Em-mons ward hall at 2 p.m. for all ladies of the Moon Lake stake. Those attending from Altonah were Margaret Maxfield. Margaret Reay, Gean Lambert, Mable Maxfield, Max-field, Belva Allxed and Ilez Ames. AID IN PROJECT A large crowd from Altonah attended at-tended the minstrel show at Altamont, Alta-mont, May 9, to raise funds to beautify the high school campus and purchase playground equipment equip-ment for the elementary school and a baseball diamond. Ernie Riley accompanied the Ag class of the Altamont High School on a trip to Salt Lake City May 4 and 5. Guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fenton Powell May 4 were Wallace Timothy of Roosevelt and Louis Timothy of Salt Lake City. May 6 Mr. and Mrs. John Clark of Bonanza visited at the Fenton Powells. Mr. and Mrs. Warren Beebe of Golconda, Nevada, were overnight guests of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Beebe. Ward Primary Sunday evening service was held May 6 at 8:00 o'clock. The program was to show what our Primary is accomplishing in teaching the gospel to our children. chil-dren.
