Show The Bench FARMER The most beautiful season ot the year is autumn. The wonder- f ul coloring of gay hues on the hillsides, the crisp morning air I spells harvest to the farmer. Autumn has always been the happy season for the farmer. The harvest means the end of summer toil and worry. In the days of their forefathers it meant all joining together to help with the threshing, a unit-! unit-! ing all to bring in the harvest. The "Old Timers" will never forget the old horse-power threshers, the old steam engines, the cook wagons, the large threshing crews, the old black coffee pot on the open fire, the yarns and tales told at mealtime. meal-time. Modern machines have outmoded out-moded many of the happy moments mo-ments of the old harvest. But in the hearts of the "Old Timers" Tim-ers" there lives a soft spot for the old way; the get-together, the easy companionship of working work-ing together for a common cause, the necessities of life.
