Show ROOSEVELT JUNIOR HIGH Second Lyceum Held Oct. 2 Robert Farr and Naomi Na-omi Sanders, of the University of Utah Lyceum Bureau, presented pre-sented our second lyceum of the year. Mr. Farr proved to be an accomplished pianist and Miss Sanders a charming song-bird. Matinee Dance Held Oct. 3 First matinee dance of the year was held Friday at the Roosevelt Junior High School. Girl's choice proved to be popular. About seventy-five per cent of the students danced. Cheer Leaders Chosen Judy Hall, Joan Walker, and Laura Lee Lerdahl were the I official choice of the junior high I school students for cheer leaders lead-ers for the school year. 1952-53 Tryoutg were held the previous pre-vious week with three teams contesting, consisting of: Gloria I Riding, Wanda Sprouse and, Al-j Al-j ice Patry, second team;Arakt iHorrocks, Fern Clark and Dean-I Dean-I na Parrish, and the winning trio. Junior High School Students 1 Attend Band Day Under the direction of Clyde Johnson, twenty-five band students stu-dents attended the fifth annual band day at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. Busses left early lunch was served the group on the U. of U. cam-pus cam-pus They participated in the ! eighteen-band group rendition of our National Anthen and "Military Escort." Aa guests of the University of Utah they attended at-tended the football game. After a tour of Salt Lake City, they returned to Roosevelt, very tired tir-ed but happy in a successful day well spent.
