Show ELIZABETH M. GENTRY IOKA .Funeral services were conducted in the Myton Presbyterian Presby-terian Church Wednesday at 2 p. m. m. by the Rev. Boothe Herbert Smith. Salt Lake pastor, pas-tor, for Elizabeth Margaret Gen-Itry, Gen-Itry, 37, who died at 4:15 p. m. Sunday of complications follow-! ing an operation. Born Sept. 11, 1915. in Ioka, she was a daughter of W. G. and Violet Bible Gentry. She attended the Ioka Elementary School, Wasatch Academy ai Mt. Pleasant, Westminster College, Col-lege, and received a bachelor of science degree from Brigham Young University. Miss Gentry had been a teacher teach-er in the Granite School District 14 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Salt Lake City. Survivors include her parents and two brothers, Thomas B. Gentry, Ioka, and .William D. Gentry, Myton. Burial was in the Roosevelt Cemetery, under direction of the Dillman Mortuary of Roosevelt. Roose-velt. CHARLES BERTOLA ' MYTON Funeral services were held today at 1 p. m. in I the Duchesne Stake Tabernacle, Church of Jesus Christ of Lat-; ter-day Saints, for Charles (Chas.) Bertola, 51, who died Monday afternoon in the Roosevelt Roos-evelt L D S Hospital, following a lingering illness. Bishop Glen Gilbert of the Myton Ward conducted con-ducted the services. Born April 15, 1901. in Ca-stleamonti, Ca-stleamonti, Italy, a son of Mit-chel Mit-chel and Catherine Bertola, he came to the United States as a child. He married Dorothy Roberts in Duchesne. They later separated. sepa-rated. He married Betty Peterson, Peter-son, July 18, 1949, in Craii;, Colo. p For the past 30 years, Mr. Bertola lived in the Uintah Ba-1 sin, residing in Tabiona, until five years ago, when he moved to Myton. He engaged in cattle cat-tle and sheep raising, and ran aa grocery store in Myton. Besides his widow, of Myton, survivors are three sons and daughters, Mrs. Leo (Bertha) Jones, Jennewick, Wash.; Charley Char-ley Bertola. Jr., Myton, and Esther Bertola, Tabiona; two step-daughters, Maureen and Carol Ungricht, both of Myton; four grandsons; two borthers, Max and Art Bertola, both of Salt Lake City, and one sister, Mrs. Carol (Nettie) White, of California.-' SAMUEL BRUCE KETTLE BALLARD Funeral services were held today, Thursday, Oct. 9, at 1 p. m. in the Ballard LDS Chapel under the direction of Bishop Golden Collins for Samuel Sam-uel Bruce Kettle, 74, who died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Elsie Sechest, in Moab, following follow-ing a lingering illness. Born in Ridgeway. Colo , Aug. 19. 1878, the son of Robert Rob-ert and Mary Ann Morrison Kettle, he was married to Julie Smith, March 18, 1903. in the Salt Lake Temple. He was a retired Uintah Basin Ba-sin rancher and cattleman. Survivors are his widow; four sons, Elmer and Lester Kettle, of Myton. and Marvin and Elton Kettle, bf Roosevelt; three daughters, Mrs. Elsie Secresr, Moab, Mrs. Clara Gardner, of Roosevelt, and Mrs. Ora Show ell. of Salt Lake City; 26 grandchildren grand-children and six great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Judith McClellan, Ridgeway, Colo. Burial will be in the Vernal cemetery, under the direction of the Olpin Mortuary, of Roosevelt. |
