Show Estimated Income Declaration For 1947 Du8fr1arch15 A declaration of estimated income in-come must-be filed on or before March 15, 1947, by every citizen or resident of the United States who expects to receive, during 1947, wages in excess of $500, the Internal Revenue Service reminded tax payers today. Under Un-der the declaration of estimated income, $500 will be allowed for each dependent. "Only persons receiving wages subject to withholding are exempt ex-empt from the filing of an estimated esti-mated income declaration," continued con-tinued the Internal Revenue Service, Ser-vice, "and even those persons must file if they expect to earn $416.66 a month or more, if single and without dependents, or $458.33 a month if married and without dependents." The same declaration is also required of aliens who are resi-r resi-r dents of Canada or Mexico and k . who receive wages, subject to j withholding in this country, and if they fall within the aforesaid groups. Other nonresident aliens pre not required to file a declaration. declar-ation. "In deciding whether you must file a declaration," advises James Livsey, deputy collector, you should exclude from your income in-come any items which are wholly whol-ly exempt from tax, such as mustering out pay, military pay or enlisted and non-commissioned personnel.
