Show Fire Destroys House and Furnishings A fire, of unknown origin, completely com-pletely destroyed the lumber house belonging to Charles Mercer and occupied oc-cupied by Mr. and Mrs. Carl Casey and family, on the East State highway high-way last Thursday night about 10 o'clock. The fire was well underway before be-fore it was first noticed by someone passing by and neighbors. The entire en-tire roof was ablaze before the local fire department was summoned. The fire department made a quick run to the scene and kept the fire from spreading to other nearby property. However, it was impossible to save the burning home or any of its contents. con-tents. All of the furniture in the house and personal belongings of Mr. and Mrs. Casey went up in flames. Lawrence Law-rence Bishop, a neighbor, was the first one to the scene and it was impossible im-possible to get even near the burning burn-ing mass. Mr. and Mrs. Casey and children were in Provo at the time and were unaware of the fire. On their way home they were stopped in American Amer-ican Fork and notified of the tragedy. trag-edy. According to reports the home and furniture were both partially covered cov-ered by insurance. |
