Show Final Okeh Given Cave Tunneling Project P. P. Patraw, superintendent of the National Parks Service of Utah and Nevada, spent Saturday of last week in American Fork canyon and made a thorough investigation of the middle cave in the Timpanogos cave system. Mr. Patraw was very much impressed im-pressed with the scenic values of the new cave. He feels that the cave should be made available to the public by the method that has previously prev-iously been outlined, that of tusnel-ing tusnel-ing a passage from the Timpanogos Timpan-ogos cave to the Middle and from that to the old Hansen cave, thus making a complete circuit. A trail will be built from the Hansen cave to join the present trail to the caves. The work will go forward with the aim of completing it before the present tourist sea-son closes. A report re-port of visitors at the cave this year, according to the records of Thomas Walker, National Parks Ranger, shows a gain of 86 per cent over the same time last year. The report was complete to May 31. n |
