Show Work Ordered Started On Hospital Remodeling A hospital under full operation within the next two months' is the word that comes from the hospital committee. Housed in the building purchased by the city for this purpose, pur-pose, the former Co-op. building on Main street, equipped with modem facilities, the people of tins community com-munity will welcome the convenience conven-ience of a hospital at home. There has been a long felt need and under the new set-up everything is bright for this new community project. The committee came to a decision to go ahead and remodel the building, build-ing, the work having commenced this week. An expenditure of 3,000.-00 3,000.-00 will include a number of improvements improve-ments including the installation of a heating system, widening of the hall running through the building, the construction of a delivery room for maternity work, remodeling of the operating room, etc. The main entrance to the hospital will also be made more attractive and as soon ! as possible the stairway will be widened and set back to eliminate the steepness. Changes will include moving the kitchen farther north, arranging a hospital office in the northeast room off the reception hall with nurses' quarters and x-ray rooms in close proximity. The operating room is to be remodeled and late equipment installed. There will be five private rooms, two semi-private and one ward, accomodating ac-comodating a total of fifteen beds to begin with. The building provides pro-vides space for three or four more additional rooms with 10 to 12 additional addi-tional beds as the demand warrants The new heating equipment throughout the building already is practically completed. The boiler has been enlarged and repaired and a new stoker installed. A new type of fan radiation insures even heat throughout. All four of the American Fork physicians, Messrs. J. F. Noyes, G. S. Richards, Kenneth E. Noyes and V. F. Houston will support the hospital which insures A-l medical attention and success to the institution. The hospital committee comprised of William S. Storrs, Martin Nielsen. Leo Meredith, Rulon Nicholes and A. F. Gaisford in conjunrtion with the rity council have the responsibility responsi-bility of getting the project under way. o |
