Show Bryce Canyon Open During Winter ZION NATIONAL PARK, October 31, 1936 This year for the first time in the history of Biyce Canyon National Na-tional Park, motorists will be able to drive into the park at any time during the winter, according to information in-formation just received from Superintendent Super-intendent P. p. Patraw. This will be made possible through a cooperative cooper-ative agreement between the National Na-tional Park Service and the Utah State Road Commission, whereby State road equipment will be used In keeping the road open from Utah route No. 12 into Bryce Park. The snow plows will run as far as inspiration in-spiration Point, thus enabling visi-tors visi-tors to see three of the main view points, Sunset, Sunrise, and Inspiration Inspir-ation Points. Although accommodations accommo-dations within the park will be closed until next spring, there will be good accommodations open all winter at Ruby's Inn, one mile outside out-side the park. This cooperative agreement will no doubt be of considerable benefit to many motorists traveling through Utah in the winter who might otherwise other-wise be unable to see the scenic marvels of Bryce Canyon, and it will add one more feature to the already popular winter circle tour through Zion Canyon, Grand Canyon (South Rim), Boulder Dam, and Las Vegas. Those who have seen Bryce Canyon Can-yon when mantled with snow have been greatly impressed by its beauty, and to many it is more attractive at that time than in the summer. An increasing number of motorists is expected to avail itself of this new opportunity for winter touring. |
