Show New diploma policy is outlined Several seniors have completed the state's requirements for high school graduation, but do not meet the more stringent requirements of the Park City School District, said superintendent Tony Mitchell. On Tuesday night he proposed a graduation policy that would offer those students a special certificate of competency. The district now offers two certificates in addition to its regular diploma-a certificate of special education and a certificate of completion. Neither acknowledge a student who is competent but may have transfered from another school without the extra credits required by the Park City School District, Mitchell said. "We currently have approximately five students who would fall into that category," he said. A formal policy will be presented to the board for adoption at its next meeting, he said. |
