Show New attendance policy proposed The Park City High School Community Council has proposed a policy to curb the growing absentee rate at the high school. The proposed policy states that after four absences from any one class during a quarter, the student will not be eligible for makeup work. If a student misses more than four days of school during a quarter he will not be permitted to take part in any extracurricular activities. "If there are no objections, we would like to put this policy into effect next fall," said Dave Hanscom of the council. The proposed policy does make provisions for extended illnesses and for ski competition, he said. The board did not take action on the policy, but will consider it at its next meeting, said superintendent Tony Mitchell. |
