Show Library group shares books, ideas The only thing better than reading a good book is sharing it with someone, said Park City librarian Pat Montgomery, who would like to remind Park City residents of the library's monthly book discussion group. The group is less for academic types than for those who just enjoy ' reading, she said. Currently the program has a half a dozen regular members, including a resident artist, a housewife, a businesswoman and a visiting professor and his wife, Montgomery said. It is just the right size for a discussion group, but I would still like to have more participants." Each month the members choose a book to be discussed at the next session. The books range from autobiographies to novels. "Right now we are on a roll of books which were later adapted for movies," Montgomery said. Recent selections have included I'nder the Volcano and Razor's Edge. On Wednesday, Feb. 13 the group will discuss E.M. Forster's Passage to India, which was recently released as a film by David Lean. "The format is informal. There is no group leader. People just exchange ideas about the characters, the plot or the author's style." The library book discussion group meets at the library at 7 p.m. and newcomers are welcome, Montgomery Montgo-mery said. |
