"The questionnaire has shown that there is a lot of interest. We've received a lot of responses and so far there has been only one indicating the student was not interested at all." said school superintendent Toiiv Mitchell. The proposed summer school program includes refresherremediation refresherremedia-tion classes, enrichment classes, intensive academic courses, study' travel opportunities and computer classes,, he said. A variety of subjects including reading, creative writing, dramatics, foreign languages, music and geology, among others, could be offered and would be taught by members of the current school facilities, he said. "Our original intent was to offer the classes only to students enrolled in the district. But on some of the questionnaires we've seen an interest in adult classes too," he added. Mitchell said the district w ill keep the fees for the classes as low as possible and that most of (lie programs would probably be scheduled between June 17 and June 30. |
