Show Board todiscuss new school alternatives A discussion of the alternatives to building a new school will be the main item on the agenda at Tuesday evening's meeting of the Park City Board of Education. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the district board room at the Treasure Mountain Middle School. Some of the alternatives to be discussed include adding temporary classrooms to the present elementary elemen-tary school building, moving the 'fourth grade to the Treasure Mountain Middle School and .'instituting .'insti-tuting a year-round school calendar, . said school superintendent Tony Mitchell. "We would like to invite anyone who has concerns about these alternatives to present their opinions to the board Tuesday night," he said. The agenda also calls for a . discussion of next year's school calendar with a suggested starting date after Labor Day weekend, he said. According to the agenda, the members of the school board will also discuss a plan to divide some of their responsibilities into a number of committees specializing in teacher negotiations, curriculum and instruction, instruc-tion, community relations, personnel and long-range planning. The board may also take formal action on the suspension of two high school students who were found with marijuana in their lockers last month, Mitchell said. The board will then present the results of a recent summer school survey, he said. |
