Absence Deemed Deem-ed Resignation: Any Planning Plann-ing Commission member who is absent from two (2) consecutive regularly scheduled sche-duled Planning Commission meetings shall be deemed to have resigned from the Commission, unless those absences are excused by the Chairman of the Planning Commission. Section 2: The appointments appoint-ments of existing Planning Commission members shall not be affected hereby. Section 3. Effective Date: This ordinance shall take effect upon publication. Ordinance No. 82-2 An ordinance amending certain sections of ordinance No. 12-79, removing the council member . from the planning commission meeting meet-ing attendance as a mandatory manda-tory requirement. Whereas, the City Council is able to keep fully advised of the disposition of matters before the Planning Commission Commis-sion by working with the Planning Staff and other city officials and employees, so that attendance of Planning Commission meetings by a city council member is unnecessary. Now therefore, be it ordained ordain-ed that: Section 1: Sections 1.1, 1.2, and 1.3 of Ordinance No. 12-79 shall be repealed and reenacted as follows: Section 1.1 Planning Commission Com-mission Created: There is hereby created a city planning plan-ning commission to consist of eight (8) members. Members shall be appointed by the Mayor, with advise and consent of the Council. Section 1.2 Terms of Members: Mem-bers: Members of the Planning Plann-ing Commission shall serve terms of four (4) years. The terms shall be staggered so that two (2) members shall be appointed each year. Terms shall expire on the second Monday in February, but members on the Planning Plann-ing Commission shall continue conti-nue to serve until their successors are appointed and qualify.
