Show $70,000 Burglary Arrests Made By Matthew Mac-sen Following nearly ""five months of investigation, Summit County Deputies and the county investigating detective this week arrested four Salt Lake area men on charges of burglary and theft in connection with $70,000 worth of stolen property including damage to private residences. Two of the seven homes burglarized are in the Pinebrook subdivision, and hardest hit was Summit Park where five homes were ransacked and family possessions poss-essions were taken. The burglaries took place last August and September in the area before the five got paranoid and left that location, locat-ion, according to Summit County investigating detective detect-ive Rob Berry. After arresting the men, ages ranging from 19 to 24, deputies armed with search warrants recovered $2,000 worth of property taken from the homes. Detective Berry said Tuesday Tues-day most of the property had already been fenced in the Salt Lake area and to out of state sources adding, the department is still pursuing leads to several fences in Salt Lake to recover stolen property. Anything in the house worth selling is what was taken Berry said, ranging from jewelry to stereo components, console T.V. sets, skis, furniture and freezer meat. All but one of the burglaries took place at night Berry noted. The men were initially booked into Summit County jail. Two of the four are out on $35,000 bail. Summit County Sheriff Ron Robinson noted, the sheriff's department has received an increasing number of calls in recent weeks from people seeing suspicious activity to aid in preventing crime in their neighborhoods, adding that the neighborhood watch program is catching on. |
