Lefavi was away when the money disappeared and authorities are searching for a suspect believed to have been involved w ith the theft. Stein' s Blazer Misplaced Stein Eriksen reported a brand new $17,000 Chevy Blazer missing January 11 from the driveway at his Thaynes Canyon horn. The Blazer was later located at Gordon Wilson Chevrolet in Salt Lake where it had been taken by mechanics to repair a defective speedometer. Missing Vehicle Comes Back Doug Curtis reported a $500, 1971 AMC two-door missing January 14 from the Senior Citizen's Center jparking lot. While officers were investigating the theft, the vehicle was returned by a friend whom Curtis had given a ride to work. Curtis declined to press charges saying he would not give the fellow a ride anymore but unfortunately officers found the suspect to be under the influence. $6,500 Condo Burglary Reported Jack Brown, owner of Park Avenue number 218 told officers January 14 a storage room had been broken into at the condo and more than $6,500 worth of ski clothing and equipment missing. Investigating officers feel the lock on the unit may have been "picked" because they found no signs of forced entry. The unit was rented by Jupiter Property Management. Wall Objects Vanish on Main St. A chrome mirror and an original print disappeared January 14 from the lobby of the Alpine Prospector Hotel on Main St. 'according to owner Jim Carr. Carr suspects the items, of which no value was given, were taken by hotel guests who checked out that day. Backpack Turns Up Missing Karen Blackney of Salt Lake called the police January 15 to report the thett of a backpack. She said she realized the pack was missing and returned to the two places she had been that day in Park City. She added the pack was found at neither Utah Coal and Lumber nor The Club. Theft from Auto Called Jody Jensen of Salt Lake reported the theft of more than $250 worth of personal belongings from her vehicle parked January 17 at the Resort lot. Officers '.feel thieves used a special tool to unlock the doors of the car leaving minimal signs of their crime save for the missing items. i |
