Show RIFLE SQUAD !S ' DOING GOOD WORK The rifle squad which Is practicing at the post bad a good day's work Wednesday, and the, scores were excellent. ex-cellent. The program for the day was CO) yards slow fire and a tiklriulsh ruu in the morning, and 200 yards slow fire and rapid fire at 200 yards In the afternoon The shooting of the team as a whole, at all the ranges, was good, and Coach Walthall Walt-hall was satisfied. The shooting was with the old Sprlngfields, but, commencing this morning, the new star gauge Springfield Spring-field was Issued to the men The bore of the muzzle has been especially especial-ly made for target work. It was understood that Sergeant Gardner of C company would not be able to shoot, owing to his failure to secure a vacation, but Wednesday night the arrangements were made and now he will shoot until the elimination elim-ination Is made, ills presence will make an elimination necessary, which will commence this mornlna. One man will be dropped from the squad The afternoon shooting puts Sergeant-Major Xlelson In the lead, with Sergeant Anderson a second by three poluts. Niolson shot 43 at 200 yards, and Anderson 41. At the rapid fire, Nlelson made 10 and Anderson to. Captain Kncass and Prhatc Amundsen Amund-sen shot a tie for third, with a total on both ranges of SO.
