July 27 The state board of land commissioners will advance ad-vance $50,010 to the Union Reservoir company to assist In tbe completion of an irrigation project in Utah and Wasatch counties; $15,000 of tbe amount will be available at once and the balance will be furnished In two lnotallmvnt9, one next year and tbe other the following year. It Is expected ex-pected that the project will have been completed within three years. Tho money is returnable to the state In ten annual Installments, commencing com-mencing with tbe first payment on December De-cember 31. 1913. Tbe Unlou Reservoir company is a consolidation of the lollowlng companies com-panies which already have water lights and canala in Utah and Wasatch Wa-satch counties: Provo Reservoir comp.any, the Sego Irrigation company, com-pany, the Tlmpanogaa Irrigation company com-pany and the Wasatch Irrigation company. com-pany. The plan of the company calla for the building of a number of reservoirs re-servoirs and canals for the Irrigation of lands In Wasatch and the Provo bench The money advanced, by tho state will be paid out In checks for work actually done ou ' the project; these checks will be signed by the president of tho company and countersigned coun-tersigned by the president of th state land board. The question of the board disposing dispos-ing of the Piute project was not discussed dis-cussed at this meeting this morning by the board, but will be up for consideration con-sideration by the board this afternoon. after-noon. Two propositions have been made t take tbe project off the hands of tho board A number of protests from peoplo la that section of the state have been filed with Secretary W. J. Lynch and will be presented to the board this afternoon. The objectors protest pro-test against the state disposing of the project to any private parties and ask for a hearing, it is likely that the board will fix a date this afternoon af-ternoon at which time the petitions of the objecters to the proposed disposal dis-posal of the pi ect will be given a hearing. |
