The Minnesota Minne-sota state Democratic convention was called to order todayvfor the nomination nomina-tion of a full ticket. Congressman W. S. Hammond was temporary chairman. chair-man. On account of the harvest now in progress over the stnte tho country delegates have 'been slow in arriving. While there was some uncertainty as to the nominee for governor, the slate markers felt confident, up to tho time of the assembling of the convention, conven-tion, that John Llnd, former governor of Minnesota., would be named to head the ticket This they claim could be done In spite of his numerous refusals to be considered as a candidate and of his lately expressed Intention of declining, the nomination If made. Next to lind, W. S. Hammond and Mayor J. C. Haynos of Minneapolis are considered as favorites for the nomination for governor.
