Show : SIN ME HELD under ray BONO The picliminary hearing of Fred Suowden and L Lang was taken up by-Judge by-Judge Murphy this morning and the men were bound over to await the action of the district court, Lang's bond lining fixed nt $500 and Snow-clan's Snow-clan's at .2ifi. The defendant are charged with indecen! conduct, alleged to have been committed June 23. and the testimony tes-timony given was Hifncient. In the mind of the court, to hold the men for a hearing in the district court Thc judge stated, however, that it was qulto certain that Snowden could not be convicted before a jury, but that he would hold him under a lond of $200 to secure' his attendance as a witness wit-ness Officers Richard Tlneock and John Russell testified that the two men were found slcep'ng In a wagon, in Ihe alleyway of the Falstaff cafe on the night in question. Both officers stated, though, that Suowden was fast .sleep and had to be awakened by "hit-footing" him with a club The defendants were loth Intoxicated The defeDdantR f.toirtly denied their guilt, both stating they were under the influence of liquor. Snowden paid he went to the wajron to sieep after a bard oay of drinking, and after having hav-ing been nr late the night before, and that he fell asleep, not knowing what transpired after that, until he v.-a.s awakened by the "taps of the policeman's police-man's club" upon his feet.
