Show 193 I h Ml killed bv. LLrOWl American Hunting in Africa Meets With Death Sacramento, Cal , July 28. Frank N. Tllden, a soldier of fortune, son of the late Judge M C. Tllden of Sacramento Sacra-mento and Carson Cltv, New, was killed by an elephant he had wounded near Fort Jamleson, Rhodesia. South Africa, May 23 last, according to a letter received Tuesday by Captain E. L. Hawk from A. W. Kowell of San Francisco, who accompanied Til-den Til-den to South Africa two years ago. In his letter, Rowcll slates that since the accident, he has been 111 and learned none of the particulars regarding re-garding Tllden 's death and will not until the natives who were witnesses can be brought together at an Inquest. It Is presumed that Tllden's bodv was burled at Fort Jamieson. Tllden made a fortune in African and Alaskan gold fields, lie owned a large rubber plantation at the tlnio of his death. |
