Is to have a strong rivnl within the 1 next six months, when the Western Pacific railway installs along Its line the Globe Express company, the company com-pany which now serves the cities and towns along the Denver & Rio Graude railroad. Announcement that the Globe Ex press company would enter the California Cali-fornia and Nevada field was made yesterday .at the offices of the West-' ern Pacific railway. "The Globe will not be ready for business when the road opens for passenger pas-senger trafhe," said a prominent official of-ficial of the Western Pacific, "but it Is safe to predict that tho Globe will enter this field hefore the end of the j present year." A representative of the Globe express ex-press compan yhas been in this state recently and has visited a large num-1 ber of the towns along the line of the Western Pacific and is snl to have chosen sites for the location of offices of-fices for the company It was reported re-ported in Denver some months ago that tbe Goulds had secured the con- trol or the racinc express company and that that company would he merg-ed merg-ed with the Globe and the service of the two companies extender! over the entire Gould system. Wells Fargo, the American. United States and Adams are the four big express companies of the country, and with the reported merger of the Pacific Pa-cific and the Globe companies and the extension of their service to the Pacific coast over the Western Pacific, Pa-cific, another large company will enter en-ter the field.
