John Davis, charged with vagrancy, vagran-cy, was placed under a $10 bond to appear ap-pear before the court for trial tomorrow tomor-row morning. Walter Miner, a colored man. war, tried this morning for the theft of a coat and vest, and n pair of trousers, alleged to have bren stolen from Henry Kimes of th- Revd hotel on January Ith. Mr. Kimes on the witness stand tcstllied that on the dntc mentioned In tho complaint Miner, who had been in the employ of the Reed hotel for a few days, was discharged and that soon after his departure from the hostelry hos-telry certain articles were ml?sed, among them being the suit of clothes in question which belonged to Mr. Kimes. The defendant denied the theft, claiming that Mr. Kimes gav him the trousers and that he purchased the coat and vest In Salt Lake. The court did not belifve this story, however, and a verdict of g-illty was rendered against Dim. Miner was sentenced to pay a line of ?CU or go to Jail sixty days. FOUND HIM WITH THE CLOTHES Lizzie Flnandes, f the underworld, was arraigned before Judgo Murphy yesterday and sentenced to pay a fine of ?H0 or go to Jail for a period of 9'1 days She spent last night In Jail, but avers today that she will pay the line.
