Show 1ANV ARE CALLED AS JURYMEN The attorneys In the Nick Vacs murder case have been since Tuesday Tues-day afternoon trylug to get a Jury. At 10 o'clock this morning two venires ven-ires had been exhausted In securing ten jurors- The second special ven Ire was then taken up and It seems that an additional venire will have to be seemed before the Jury will be completed. From the examination of jurors. It is evident there Is much sentiment against the defendant It is thought that when the case is In actual progress It will be one of the hardest fought and most sensational sen-sational tried In the district court In some time. The sheriffs force was out all night securing the second special venire. ven-ire. Oout of two venires .f 110 men H Jurymen bad been secured and this morning the other special venire was examined to get the other three. The counsel for the defense at the pfternron session of court rather surprised sur-prised the court by reentering a motion mo-tion for a change of venue, on account of prejudice and the popular sentiment senti-ment which Is antagonistic to the defense, de-fense, and on account of remarks made before the jurymen seoured, by different men examined from the several sev-eral venires. Counsel for defense does not think bis client can secure a fair trial here where public sentiment Is so un-favorable un-favorable The court denied the motion for a change of venue and the examination of other jurymen was proceeded with. The jurvmen secured are: William Gale. Jos. Giles. Wm. Hall Arthur J. Crane. C. H. Martin. Hugh O. McLean. Wm. Hunt C. E. Storey Robert Cowan. Walter Barlow. |
