Show SUMMER SCHOOL BEGINS. j i Salt Lake City, June 14 Tho rcgu- ' lar summer school course, which is to , continue six weeks, began tills morn- j ing at the University of Utah. A feature fea-ture of the work this year will be the j co-operation with the state board of education, which will j;lve credit for any work done at the summer school towards state teachers' diplomas. A most extensive curriculum Is offered this year, Including a course In phjs-ical phjs-ical education. The faculty includes twenty-six professors and instructors, most of whom are regularly connected with the university, Among those engaged en-gaged to deliver special lectures at the summer school are Elmer G. Drown. United States commissioner or education, William Allan Xielson, professor pro-fessor of English, Harvard university, and Miss Ida Hood Clark, director of elementary manual training, Milwaukee Milwau-kee public schools. The summer school students will enjoy the advantage of tho university library, and the lunch room will be opened for their use. Much attention will be given to the physical course, the gymnastic work of which will be In charge of Dr. William G. Anderson, director of the gymnasium at Yale, assisted by Jacob Bolin of the Chautauqua Chau-tauqua School of Physical Education, and Henry S. Anderson of Yale. |
