The ' American Marathon road race, commemorating jthe feat of a Grecian soldier who ran from the plains of Marathon to Athens i with a military message and then drop-jped drop-jped dead, was won today by a native of Marathon, Peter Trivoulidas, resident res-ident of New York, but still a subject of Groecc, he proved the fleetest of llto sixty runners. The classic 25-mile race was the official test for election ;of the United States representatives at the Olympiad. Trivoulidas time, eight minute3 flower than the record but fast considering con-sidering a partly adverse wind, was two houis, 29 minutes, 31 seconds.
