Show I Mississippi Valley Association 1 Says U. S. Is Making More Than It Consumes ST. LOUIS, Mo.. April 20 Pursuit of an aggressive foreign trade policy by the United States and enactment of federal legislation to guarantee industry in-dustry against strikes, wore advocated by speakers at the opening session of tho Mississippi Valley association convention con-vention here today. Tho United States Is producing far more than is needed for democratic consumption. It was asserted, and a foreign market must be found for this surplus. Federal legislation guaranteeing industry in-dustry against strikes was demanded by Harry H. Merrick, president of the association. Mr. Merrick insisted that the rosources of - the- twenty-seven states In tho Mississippi valley be coordinated co-ordinated to effect this legislation. "We must pool our resources," he asserted, "so that only thoso favoring legislation against these criminal attempts at-tempts to stop production will bo elected to congress." |
