Show I BIG' VOTE THIS ELECTION With the Tennessee legislature adding the thirty-sijeth te to. thp list of states in favor of woman suffrage, ratification of the nine-1 teenth amendment to the constitution needed nothing more than a proclamation by Secretary of Stat. ( .lb declaring the result. One of the big results ot this vi tors for universal suffrage is now before us. In this election millions of votes never before cast will be placed in the ballot boxes by women The presidential election, elec-tion, therefore, has added uncertainties for no one can foretell on which side of any great issue the majority ol the new electors will be found. It is estimated that 26,800,000 women have been enfranchised A percentage of the women have been voting by the power conferred con-ferred by the states, but now millions will be allowed to take part in a presidential campaign who never have cast a vote. In a number of close states, the balance of power will be in the keeping of Ihr women voters who have had no party preference There has been no good reason for so long delaying the granting grant-ing of suffrage to women BUt at last the discrimination has been wiped out and the rights of women acknowledged in an ffective manner |
