Show I SELLING A CHILD. From Chicago comes the announcement that an artist, whose wife recently died, offers to sell Ins 4- ear-old daughter for $1000. The father's excuse is that he desires to place his child in the keeping of a family capable of giving the little one a good home and education. If the artist fails to sell the bab . the authorities should find a wav of getting the child iuto a home of comfort and good environment, environ-ment, for a father who would dispose of this litlle girl in that manner man-ner has neither heart nor soul. With only one child to care for. the parent is confessing inability to do his part. He must be a shiftless fellow He wants $1000 That, lfter all, seems to be his real aim. He is disposing of his baby in an effort to free himself from debt He is a father without the Ibvo and attachment of a natural man, and the sooner the child is awa from his influence, the better it will be for the little one. |
