Show POGATELLO BOY ON A LONG JOURNEY (Special to the Standard.) Pocatello, Idaho, Aug. 2C Gail Jackson, a young man of this city who joined the navy several months ago, writes to his parents here of a wonderful won-derful trip ho just completed from San Francisco to New York. Gail was at first in training at the Bremerton navy yard, and was transferred to San Francicco. From San Francisco ho was placed on the U. S. S. "West Enkonk." On this war vessel Jackson sailed to New York by way of the Panama canal. Prices on additional staples havo been fixed by the "fair price" committee com-mittee o.f the Bannock county food administration, ad-ministration, which aro as follows, subject to market changes: Premium ham, -14 cents per pound; premium bacon, G5 cents per pound; Winchester bacon, 55 cents per pound; lard, 3's 95 cents per pall; 5's $1.60 per pail; 10's, $3.35 per pail; bulk lard, (packing house) 35 cents per pound. These prices are for Pocatello Pocatel-lo Outside merchants who are compelled com-pelled to pay freight are allowed to charge extra to cover charges. The committee Is composed of T. M. Edwards. Noah S. Pond, Sam Oliver, and D. W. Standrod. David Barnctt, a former Utah man, is seeking the Republican nomination for sheriff of Bannock county. Mr. Barnctt hails from Provo. During his residence in southern Idaho, he has been engaged In farming pnrt of tho time, and up until the present has been a deputy sheriff in Bannock county.
